Happy weekend Meadows members!

Congrats to our new Board of Directors members Vickie Koury and Jacque Anderson. They have big shoes to fill replacing Jim Goldfarb and Ande Bernthal but we look forward to having them on board and greatly appreciate their service to The Meadows. In other news from the meeting last night, Nikki and Erik Boye received the Goldfarb Member Service Award given to the members who best exemplify the Meadows culture of volunteerism. Thanks to the Boyes for all they have done for the club! The info packet that was handed out to those in attendance last night is linked below.

Winter is coming so we are putting a few things to bed for the season…the pool is officially closed today and the irrigation lines and water to the clay courts will be blown out Tuesday. Out of concern for the safety of our members, the clay court nets will be removed to keep the slick surface from becoming an attractive nuisance.

We have also rolled up the windscreens and removed the water coolers from all outdoor courts so BYOWB if you are playing this weekend. The ice machine has moved inside (we are looking for a new home for it), the water fountain is off the wall and the geese are pooping on the pool deck.

Winter is coming

We are working on some warming and snow boot to tennis shoe transition areas. Stay tuned. Also, I’m trying to put on some hibernation fat for my winter in the lifeguard office so if you have any spare Mexican food, beer or Trader Joe’s ginger snaps I am accepting caloric donations.

If you haven’t been by the club this week you won’t believe the construction progress. The steel is up, the roof is being put on and things are quickly taking shape.

Cheers to a beautiful Colorado fall weekend and I’ll see you at the club!
