The Board agreed that this is serious and will place a yield sign on Club property
May 19, 2009 meeting minutes are still missing, Laura is working on finding her notes with
sincere apologies to the Board for her mistake
Staff Report:
KJ reports that all general maintenance is going on without difficulty or problems.
Thanks to KJ and the Staff for the overall great appearance of the Club
Some members are still concerned about the access to the back courts, this is still being
assessed, and a permanent solution will occur shortly
KJ will create a sign to be placed in the platform courts reminding people (mainly kids) to not
use the platform for another playground, and to be respectful of people playing around the
platforms
Committees:
Swim: The swim season is in full swing with great participation, and very good response to the
new coaching staff. We have had one home meet, with two more to come, and the slight
possibility of hosting the 8 and under prelims the week of July 20
Tennis: KJ and Doug met with
Junior Club Championships are to run July 16 thru July 19
Adult Club Championships are to run August 13 thru August 16
Concerns regarding people who sign up for clinics but don’t show, and people who don’t
sign up for clinics but show up. KJ was going to address this with an e-mail to members,
as
this is a problem for
staffed
Social: Erik has generously agreed to head up the Fourth of July activities, he will enlist
help from the membership, as well as other Board members.
Membership: Kirk has created a membership project document that was briefly discussed
at this meeting. Due to the amount of information to consider, we will study the report
and work on it more extensively at the July Board meeting
Finance:
Grounds and Facilities: Nothing new to report
By Laws: Nothing new to report
Concerns: Some members are concerned with the continuity and quality of junior
clinics. The thought is that there should be consistency throughout the Meadows
Tennis program, and
would it be worthwhile for
the junior pros to make this happen. It is strongly felt by membership that all adult
clinics not be conducted by the junior pros.
Next meeting – tentatively set for July 21, 2009 at Richard Leddon’s home, 9:30 am
