Meadows Club Board of Directors Meeting – August 25, 2009

Meeting called to order by Richard

Public Participation:

Karin Kearney came to the meeting with questions submitted to Doug; what is the purpose

of the Tennis Committee and its function with the Board? Decisions made at committee

level and passed on to Board for approval of committee recommendation. Some members

have expressed concerns about tennis decisions being made without committee input.

End of season meeting with KJ, Adrian, Doug and committee to assess season, and make

Recommendations for the 2010 season.

August 20, 2009 meeting minutes amended and approved

Staff Report:

KJ reports that club expenses for facility and general use are down from 2008, but

income is up from last year. Upcoming expenditures may include replacing the pump.

KJ is going to look at maybe using credit card options for payments, but it may be

prohibitive based on compliance issues.

Maintenance is being done as needed – pool cover racks, locks and lockers to

by taken care of by end of September to mid October. Keys to be numbered and

checked out by members.

Clay courts can be rolled before start of play in the morning, people need to maintain

courts, Clay courts will be closed by mid October.

Committees:

Swim: Swim season is winding down. We will look at end of year surveys

before end of year and move from there.

Tennis: Continued strong participation in clinics, people seem happy with

Changes.

Social: nothing to report

Membership: Kirk is continuing to work on changes to membership classifications, the

Board feels strongly about developing a "Mission Statement" that defines what the

Meadows Club is and should be in the future.

Finance:

Grounds & Facilities: no new report

By Laws: Ann Goldfarb is working on by-law changes and will send to board

as they are ready to be proofed
